Kajiado to College (K2C)
May Their Next Step Be Their BEST Step
Maranatha Volunteers International began construction at Kajiado Adventist School and Rescue Center in late 2018. What initially began as a one-dormitory project has since expanded into a beautifully landscaped campus featuring all new buildings, a nearby farm, and a borehole that provides safe, clean water for the school. The first group of high school students graduated in 2022.
Kajiado has received broad support from volunteers, donors, Maranatha, and sponsors. However, there is currently no formal mechanism in place to support the students as they transition to life after high school. This is where The Ubuntu Humanitarian Foundation, Inc. steps in. The Kajiado to College (K2C) program was designed and implemented to provide emotional and financial support to young women as they navigate the significant and potentially challenging transition from the familiar environment of Kajiado to a world where their complex and often trauma-filled backgrounds may not be understood. Ultimately, K2C assists the young graduates of Kajiado in pursuing their higher education goals, marking an important step towards becoming fully contributing members of society.
The following names and photos represent students who have expressed serious interest in continuing their education. They have been accepted into universities, colleges, or vocational schools and require assistance to reach the finish line.
What happens after high school in Kenya depends entirely on National Exam scores. For instance, a B- student will be admitted to a university, a C student will attend college, and a D student will attend trade school. It's important to note that the grading scale differs from the US scale. This information provides context and sets expectations that students are assigned to schools beyond high school based on their performance on National Exams rather than having the opportunity to choose."
About the Fees
A vocational, college, or university education for one student costs about $1,900 to $4,500 PER YEAR.
The posters below showcase specific students who have expressed a desire to improve their lives by continuing their education. We encourage you to celebrate and support them. If you want to sponsor a student beyond Kajiado in the K2C program, please click the link provided. Once the student is FULLY sponsored, we will mark her as SPONSORED.

As these girls do not have family support, sponsoring them goes beyond covering school tuition and fees. The goal is to prevent any 'surprise expenses.' Therefore, the listed fees include housing, food, shopping for dormitory supplies, uniforms and shoes, phone and phone service (as needed), and fees for preparing to attend school beyond Kajiado."
